I have recently spent two weeks in Hyderabad and Aurangabad, India, from 8-21 October, 2006. My notes from the trip and the accompanying photos may be found at these links:
A perspective on India

Please comment, especially if you are Indian! India is so big, so complex, that I am sure I got some of it wrong. Please know that I honestly tried to get it right.
Musings on books, the near future, the process of writing, the Semantic Web, the origins of agriculture, evolutionary meme theories, the venture capital process and the occasional political rant; not necessarily in that order. See my books at http://hyland-wood.org.

First In-Flight Post!
I am writing this post from a Lufthansa flight, somewhere over Turkey, on my way to Hyderabad, India. Lufthansa now offers wireless 802.11 Internet connections on their flights via the Connexion service from Boeing. Lufthansa calls it "FlyNet". It generally seems to sell for USD $25 per flight or $9 per hour, but is free on this flight.
Is this cool, or what??

Survey on Software Engineering Practices
I am conducting a Web-based survey of software engineering practices as part of my Ph.D. research. Software engineers in several countries are expected to participate.
The survey questionnaire should only take between 5-8 minutes to complete. The questionnaire is available at the following URL:
http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~dwood/sepsurvey.html
Only practicing software engineers or programmers should complete the questionnaire. Please pass this invitation to any practicing software engineers or programmers that you know. The more data the better :)
Survey respondents will be offered an opportunity to receive a summary of the survey results. Respondents wishing to see the summary results will asked to provide an email address separately from the questionnaire. The questionnaire is entirely anonymous.
Thank you in advance for participating. Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or concerns. Contact details are given at the survey URL.
